Lewis Road Kitchen Challenge Terms & Conditions
Introduction
By completing and submitting an entry, you confirm that you understand and accept these terms, meet the eligibility requirements and agree to the Privacy Policy and Terms of Service on LRC’s website.
The promoter of this competition is Lewis Road Creamery Limited (‘LRC’) of 8 Commerce Street, Auckland Central, New Zealand. LRC reserves the right to cancel the competition or change any terms in any way it deems fit, without notice.
The competition will be run through LRC’s website at https://lewisroadcreamery.co.nz/ and Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/lewisroadcreamery and Instagram page at https://www.instagram.com/lewisroadcreamery/.
1. How to enter:
You can enter between 8:00am NZST on 4th September 2021 and 8.00am NZST on 3rd October 2021 (‘Entry Period’).
Facebook: Enter by:
- Posting a photo or video of a food creation that complies with these terms and tagging LRC’s Facebook account. Use your personal Facebook account (which must not be a private account); and
- Completing the sign up form on the website (https://lewisroadcreamery.co.nz/kitchen-challenge) and emailing the recipe for your creation to kitchenchallenge@lewisroad.co.nz
- Need to be following @lewisroadcreamery and our partners pages @fisherpaykel, @kitchenaidausnz and @lindt for your entry to be valid and in the running.
Instagram: Enter by:
- Posting a photo or video of a food creation that complies with these terms and tagging LRC’s Instagram account. Use your personal Instagram account (which must not be a private account); and
- Completing the sign up form on the website (https://lewisroadcreamery.co.nz/kitchen-challenge) and emailing the recipe for your creation to kitchenchallenge@lewisroad.co.nz

2. Who can enter:

To enter you must be eighteen (18) years of age or older, otherwise your parent/guardian can enter for you. Companies and other entities cannot enter. The Facebook or Instagram account used to enter the competition (if applicable) must be in your name. You must be a New Zealand resident and not an employee (or an immediate family member of an employee) of Lewis Road Creamery Limited. LRC reserves the right to verify the validity of all entrants and entries.
3. What to use in your creation:
- Each creation must use a minimum of 50 mls/grams of at least two of the following LRC products: milk, cream, sour cream, butter.
4. Your Photo/Video:
- Your entry photo/video must be your own original photo/video and show the LRC products used in your dish alongside in your photo/video (it’s OK if they are part-used or empty!).
5. Your Recipe:
- Your recipe must be your own original recipe or if not, please tell us the source or publisher of the recipe.

7. Finalist Selection:
Following the Entry Period, three (3) entries from each category will be selected based on skill by our celebrity chef panel in conjunction with LRC (or its representatives) to progress to the next stage of the competition for consideration as a winner of one of the five (5) categories:- Best home baker- this will be predominantly a sweet dish with some exceptions at LRC’s discretion (eg. Scones, cakes, sweet tarts)
- Best home cook – this will be predominantly a savoury dish with some exceptions at LRC’s discretion (eg. Pasta, Savoury Pie, a meat dish)
- Best children’s creation- open to all children under the age of 12 (can be posted on their parents account if they do not have one of their own). Guardian or parent permission required.
- Most creative- open to all entries, will be judged on the most creative dish- could be anything from the dish itself, ingredients used, how it is presented.
- Best Semi Professional – this category can only be entered by the Social Media Foodie Influencers selected by LRC.

In order to assist with the selection of the finalists, LRC may require further information about you, and/or evidence you have accepted these terms and any other terms provided by LRC. On 4th October 2021 LRC will announce the finalists and their details on LRC’s Facebook and Instagram accounts. The celebrity chef panel’s decisions are final and no further correspondence will be entered into.
8. Prize Winner selection:
- At 4:00pm NZST on 4th October 2021 LRC will create 5 (five) posts on its Instagram and Facebook for each Prize Category with the relevant 3 finalists’ photos;
- From 4:00pm NZST on 4th October 2021 until 11:59pm NZST on 7th October 2021 (‘Voting Period’), the public may vote in support of a finalist’s entry in accordance with clause 9; and
- The prize winner for each of the Prize Categories will be the finalist whose entry receives the highest number of valid votes in the Prize Category within the Voting Period across LRC’s Facebook and Instagram combined. There will be five prize winners in total. In the event that two or more finalists’ entries receive the equal highest number of votes during the Voting Period, LRC may choose between the finalists’ entries in its sole discretion.
- The final prize winner for each of the Prize Categories will be announced on LRC’s Facebook and Instagram pages on 8th October 2021.

The public may vote for finalist’s entries by commenting on LRC’s relevant post on its Instagram and/or Facebook and saying which is their favourite entry. LRC has complete discretion to determine whether a vote is validly submitted and whether such vote will count towards the total number of votes for a finalist’s entry.

LRC assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, failure, malfunction, alteration, delay in delivery, operation or transmission, theft, or other circumstance of any kind, which may affect any votes received in relation to a finalist’s entry.11.
LRC reserves the right to verify the validity of votes received in respect of any finalist’s entry, and to disqualify any finalist because of any suspicious voting behaviour relating to a finalist or their entry. LRC reserves the right to question the legitimacy of a social media account if it considers that one individual may be voting through multiple accounts.12.
Finalists’ entries may also be posted on LRC’s website and other social media platforms. Voters may vote for any one or more entries but cannot vote for any entry more than once per social media platform. Only votes submitted on LRC’s Instagram and Facebook in accordance with these terms will be valid. Shares or re-posts of an entry on Facebook or Instagram will not count as votes.

LRC will endeavour to contact the prize winners using the entry details provided within two (2) business days of their entry being chosen as a winner. To claim their prize, prize winners must, within 72 hours of LRC’s first attempted communication, respond to LRC in the manner instructed and provide any information requested. LRC is not responsible for any failure of the prize winner to receive this notification. The prize winner’s name and photo may be published on LRC’s website, social media platforms, and other channels deemed appropriate.
14. Prizes:
There are five (5) prizes to be won. Each prize consists of:
- A Kitchen Aid Appliance- valued at $270
- A Lindt Chocolate Product Pack- valued at $100
- Lewis Road Creamery Product pack- valued at $150
There will also be a 6th (sixth) prize as a bonus category where every entry into the Kitchen Challenge will be in the draw to win. The winner picked at random from the valid entries will win:
- Fisher and Paykel quad door refrigerator/freezer – valued at $6799
LRC reserves the right to substitute alternative prizes of equal or lesser value.

The prizes must be used within six (6) months of the end of the Entry Period and no compensation will be payable if a prize winner does not use his/her prize within this period. No part of a prize can be transferred, exchanged or redeemed for cash. All expenses or incidental costs associated with redeeming a prize are the sole responsibility of the entrant. Prizes may not be passed on or gifted for the benefit of anyone else.

Prizes will be subject to standard terms and conditions in relation to the supply of those goods and services, as applicable. By entering the competition, and accepting a prize, you agree to such terms and conditions.
17. Intellectual Property:
By submitting an entry, you assign all intellectual property rights (including but not limited to, copyright) in your entry and photo to LRC and grant LRC an exclusive, royalty free perpetual worldwide licence to copy and publish your entry and photo. By entering the competition you confirm:- Each photo you submit is your original work and does not infringe any third party rights; and
- Your entry does not contain viruses or other computer programming routines that may damage, interfere with, surreptitiously intercept or expropriate, any system, data or personal information.
18. Publicity:
By entering this competition you:- Agree to be willing and available for questioning, interviewing, filming and photography for promotional activities associated with the competition, as requested by LRC and/or its suppliers;
- Consent to your name, photograph, image and likeness being recorded, reproduced, published, copied, communicated and otherwise used by LRC and any applicable suppliers for advertising, publicity and promotional purposes throughout the world, in perpetuity, and without the need for any compensation other than your prize;
- Agree not to publish or disclose any information in connection with the competition or the prizes, without LRC’s prior written consent; and
- Agree not to do anything that would bring LRC into disrepute while participating in the competition or in related publicity.
19. Legal:
The competition and these terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. To the maximum extent permitted by law, LRC (and its associated entities, employees, contractors and agents) and the suppliers of the prizes:- Disclaim all guarantees, warranties, and representations of any kind in respect of the competition, the prizes, and the claiming and use of the prizes;
- Exclude any and all liability for any loss (including damage, claim, injury, cost or expense) which is suffered or incurred by you in connection with the competition or prizes; and
- Will not be responsible for any events beyond their reasonable control, including unforeseen closures or restrictions due to Covid 19 or any other pandemic. To the extent an event beyond the reasonable control of LRC or a supplier occurs, the timetable for this competition and related promotional events may be modified by LRC.
20. Privacy:
Personal information you provide will be collected, stored and used by LRC for the purpose of conducting the competition and related promotions as contemplated in these terms. The collection, use and disclosure of personal information provided in connection with the competition is governed by LRC’s Privacy Policy. You may have rights of access to and correction of your personal information under the Privacy Act 2020.
